Hello Farm Folk,
March is here and farming season is upon us! Are you looking for a way to enrich your quality of life while making a difference in the community? Are you interested in volunteering on an organic farm this year? Helping out on the farm is a great opportunity to learn practical growing skills, to spend time outdoors, and to meet wonderful like-minded folks. Volunteer activities include a combination of planting, weeding, harvesting, preparing veg for market, plant care, and more.
We have two local organic farms that could use your support. The Cutting Veg, based out of Elmgrove Farm, welcomes volunteers every Sunday, from May to October, 7:30am-3:30pm. Clearwater Farm hosts volunteers every Tuesday, from May to October, 7:30am-3:30pm. Both farms are located approximately 1 hour north of Toronto, and require no commitment. Volunteer as often as you like.
If you are interested in being kept up to date about volunteering, email Daniel at daniel@thecuttingveg.com, and let him know which farm/day of the week could be a better fit for you.
It’s going to be another great year of growing food in community. We hope you can be part of the team!
Looking forward to farming with you soon!
Until then, Keep Livin’ on the Veg!
Daniel
P.S. Interested in getting a weekly basket of organic produce this spring to fall? Registration for Clearwater Farms Basket Program is opening very soon!
